Firefly cast reunites for SDCC 2012

Firefly is a show that just won't go away. Although it was cancelled 10 years ago, the show still has a huge cult following and fans all over the world. Many of today's top shows have paid homage to Firefly in one way or another. Shows like the Big Bang Theory and Castle have all added little tributes to the show over the years. With hundreds of websites, several fan movies and a documentary about the fans of the series, Firefly isn't going anywhere anytime soon. In the past year, the Science Channel acquired the rights to air the 14 episodes that were produced and the episodes have not only done well in the ratings, but have exposed a whole new group of fans or Browncoats to the cult series.  Over the years, Joss Whedon has expressed an interest in revisiting the series and many of the cast and crew are on board as well to revisit their beloved characters. Now comes the news that in honor of the shows 10th anniversary, several of the cast members and creative team behind the show are coming together for a very special panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con. The Science Channel is bringing together Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Tim Minear, Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Sean Maher and Michael Fairman.  The panel is scheduled to last an hour and will also include some never before seen footage and some noteworthy surprises according to the people from the Science Channel. For more information on the upcoming San Diego Comic Con and the schedules for all the upcoming panels, head on over to their San Diego Comic Con.

Supernatural Season 8 news

WARNING! If you don't want to know anything about the upcoming season of Supernatural, then I suggest you stop reading right now. If you are interested to know some tidbits about Season 8, then by all means continue reading! When we last left the Winchester brothers, they had been double crossed by Crowley...he took the Prophet from Sam and let's just say Dean and Cass ended up in purgatory for all eternity. The end scene with Dean standing in the middle of purgatory with those red-eyed creatures surrounding him was just creepy! Quite the predicement the Winchesters find themselves in wouldn't you say? But, I am sure that one way or the other, they will find their way back to each other. According to our good friends over at Zap2it.com, production will begin in a few days in Vancouver and new show runner Jeremy Carver is already putting his stamp early on the season by adding a recurring love interest for Sam. For more information on this development and other tidbits, you can read the article from Zap2it.com here.

Beautiful Wave DVD competiton

Lance Henriksen stars in the new Anchor Bay Entertainment  release Beautiful Wave. The film also stars Patricia Richardson, Aimee Teegarden and Helen Slater. The film was written by Lynn Salt and David Mueller and was directed by David Mueller. Here is the official synopsis of the film from the official Beautiful Wave website: “Beautiful Wave tells the story of a New York City teenager, Nicole (Aimee Teegarden), sent to spend a summer with her estranged grandmother (Patricia Richardson) in Santa Cruz. When Nicole is given an old 1962 surf van that belonged to the grandfather she never knew, she and three friends depart for a surf trip down to Malibu that extends down the coast of Baja after they find her grandfather's surf map in the van. On their quest to find a still pure "spot" in this age of over-built coastlines and over-run campgrounds, the kids follow the map down to the very tip where Nicole discovers a 40 year old family secret that will unlock the door to her own self discovery. Themes of loss, healing and letting go of the past play out in this coming of age drama with a surfing backdrop that pays homage to the "soul" of surfing and invites everyone to ride the "Beautiful Wave" together." The DVD and Blu-ray will be released on May 8th and to celebrate the release of Beautiful Wave, we are holding a contest on the official Lance Henriksen facebook page. A big thank you goes out to Meddy Ezrah and Anchor Bay Entertainment for supplying the prizes for the contest. Tribe member Jennifer Zeghibe came up with the idea for the contest. Read the description and instructions below: In Beautiful Wave, Lance’s character Jimmy is a “Soul Surfer.” Thomas Mitchell, author of The Seven Levels of Surfing, describes soul surfing as “The highest level, the pinnacle of surfing spirituality…The Soul Surfer expresses himself through his unity with the breaking wave. He borrows the wave's spirit for a short while and uses his body and equipment to translate the essence of the wave's spirit into Art.” In a single sentence only, describe something you do in your own life that is your version of Soul Surfing. Send your response to tlforeman1@gmail.com before midnight EST on Sunday, May 13th. The names of participants will be put in a random drawing. Three winners will receive a copy of the Beautiful Wave DVD.  Good luck and make sure we support the film Beautiful Wave! ***Photos used courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment. All rights reserved***

Will Fringe get a season 5?

The fourth season of Fringe has been solid on a creative level, but as far as the ratings go, the show has experienced some of its lowest ratings ever. Being put on a Friday night at 9pm on FOX is part of the reason for the steady decline in viewership. That's why once again, the show finds itself on the brink of cancellation. Not only is the bad time slot hurting Fringe, but the cost to keep the show on the air is another issue and FOX is losing money. Creator JJ Abrams is hopeful that Fringe will be back for a 5th season. For more information about this, head over to TVLine and read their article about the status of the show.

New Anger Management Ad

The countdown is on for the return of Charlie Sheen to our television screens. His new FX comedy Anger Management is set to premiere of June 28th with two back to back episodes starting at 9pm EST. We all know the story about his being fired from the hit series Two and a Half Men. Charlie was replaced by Ashton Kutcher and though the show started off with strong ratings, the novelty of Kutcher joining the cast has seemed to wear off and the show recently reached an all time low for viewers. Are fans ready for the return of Charlie Sheen back to television? That remains to be seen, but test audiences have given very positive reviews of the first couple of episodes. It will remain to be seen how the show will do. Until then, FX and Charlie are having fun with entertaining promos for the show.

HBO renews Game of Thrones for Season 3

What comes as no surprise, HBO recently announced that it will renew its hit series Game of Thrones for a third season. From the very first episode of this incredible series, the show has been a hit for HBO and has held steady in the ratings. For the second season, the series has been averaging around 3.8 million viewers. The show is definitely on pace to eclipse the ratings from the very successful Season 1!

Grimm renewed for Season 2!

We won't see a brand new episode of Grimm until March 30th, but we do have some great news to share. NBC has renewed Grimm for a second season! although not a huge breakout hit for the network, Grimm has remained solid in the ratings with the difficult Friday night 9pm time slot. Earlier in the season, things were not looking so great for the series and there was some doubt if there would be a second season, but Grimm fans can breathe a sign of relief!

Touch returns to FOX

After what seemed like forever, Touch finally returns to FOX on Monday the 19th with a brand new episode. The original preview episode aired on January 25th with a solid debut of almost 12 million viewers. The episode received great reviews from fans and critics alike. What seemed like a hard task to do, Kiefer Sutherland allowed the audience to forget that he was Agent Jack Bauer for 8 seasons on 24 and care for a father who was dealing with a special needs child. That speaks wonders about Sutherland's acting prowess and how he can suck you into a role. With strong performances from not only Sutherland, but Danny Glover and newcomer David Mazouz, Touch looks to be one of the stand out shows of the television season although it is a mid-season entry. You can find more information and background on the show at FOX's official site for Touch. Just click this link below. Touch will begin airing regularly on Monday nights at 9pm. Alcatraz will move to the 8pm slot. UPDATE: Touch does not return to FOX until Thursday, March 22nd! Sorry for the confusion! Official Touch website

Homeland and Dexter get premiere date!

In a tale of two series coming back after different opinions on its previous season, both Dexter and Homeland will be returning on Showtime September 30th. Dexter, which many thought had one of its weakest seasons to date will premiere at 9pm EST. Recently, star Michael C. Hall signed a new 2 year extension to his contract. On the flip side, Homeland will return right after Dexter at the 10 pm time slot. Homeland stars Damian Lewis and Claire Daines and was widely considered the best drama of last year. In our opinion, it was the best drama we've seen in the last 10 years. President Obama is such a fan of the show, that Damian Lewis recently let it slip during an interview with BBC television host Graham Norton, that he was invited to the White House for the upcoming State Dinner with the British Prime Minister! Talk about being a fan of the show!
