Summer Glau returns to Alphas

NEW YORK – October 12, 2012 – Fans of Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly) and Syfy’s high-octane hit-series Alphas will get a double dose of the actress as she returns as Alpha Skylar Adams in the final two episodes of the season beginning this Monday, October 15 at 8PM ET/PT. The thrilling and shocking second season finale of Alphas airs Monday, October 22nd at 8PM ET/PT. In the season’s penultimate episode, “Need to Know”, Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) kidnaps and interrogates an Alpha prisoner forcing the team to wonder how far Rosen will go to avenge the death of his daughter Dani. Meanwhile, Harken (Malik Yoba) and Gary (Ryan Cartwright), desperately search for Skylar Adams (Glau), only to discover that Stanton Parish (recurring guest star John Pyper-Ferguson) has imprisoned her in a twisted form of captivity. In the Season 2 finale, “God’s Eye”, separated from his team and haunted by vivid hallucinations of his daughter, Dani (guest star Kathleen Munroe), an increasingly desperate Dr. Rosen seeks a final confrontation with malevolent Alpha leader Stanton Parish. Meanwhile, his team of Alphas, with Skylar’s help, battles both the clock and their issues of mutual distrust to try and thwart Parish’s deadly plans. Alphas follows a clandestine group of ordinary people with superhuman mental and physical abilities. Led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn), the unlikely team takes on cases the CIA, FBI and Pentagon are unwilling or unable to solve going head-to-head with many of the criminal Alphas hiding among the normal population. The series also stars Malik Yoba, Ryan Cartwright, Warren Christie, Azita Ghanizada, Laura Mennell and Erin Way.

Denis Leary's USA pilot sets cast and director

The USA Network half-hour comedy pilot SIRENS cast Michael Mosley ("30 Rock," "Pan Am"), Kevin Daniels ("Modern Family"), Jessica McNamee ("The Vow") and Kevin Bigley ("Game Change") to star. Leary will co-write with Fisher ("Wedding Crashers," "Traffic Light"), and both will executive produce the series along with Jim Serpico ("Rescue Me"), and Hal Vogel and David Aukin ("Hyde Park on the Hudson," End Game," "The Promise") of Daybreak Pictures. Apostle and Fox Television Studios will produce in conjunction with Daybreak Pictures. The pilot, set to shoot in Chicago later this month, will be directed by Victor Nelli ( "Happy Endings," "Wilfred," "Ugly Betty," "Scrubs"), who will also executive produce. SIRENS follows three of Chicago's best EMTs whose sometimes self-loathing, other times narcissistic, and always downright self-destructive personalities make them unqualified for sustaining relationships, friendships and most occupations. They are, however, uniquely qualified for saving anyone unlucky enough to wind up in their ambulance. Mosley stars as "Johnny," a good-looking, sports-loving, Chicago EMT who works with his best friend "Hank," played by Daniels. McNamee stars as "Theresa," a smart, gorgeous female cop with the Chicago PD who still loves her ex Johnny, but ultimately had to move on when he wouldn't commit, and Bigley appears as "Brian," a wide-eyed and excitable new EMT, eager and always ready for an adventure, who still lives with his parents. Hank and Johnny put him through the paces but for the most part Brian doesn't mind; he's game for anything.

CBS cancels Made in Jersey

Some thought it would be the FOX series Mob Doctor, others thought it would be ABC's 666 Park Avenue. Unfortunately for the CBS freshman series Made in Jersey, it is the first casualty of the Fall 2012 season. After only 2 episodes, CBS has decided to cancel the series. The series debuted with 7.7 millions viewers, but fell off 30 percent during the second episode. Made in Jersey followed a streetwise attorney born and raised in New Jersey joins a posh New York City law firm, where she must defend her clients while surviving her colleagues' skepticism and her Italian American family's constant interruptions.

People loved it and they tuned in each and every week to see what craziness would happen next.
