NBC Gives 13-Episode Order to David Duchovny Series 'Aquarius'

NBC has given a straight-to-series 13-episode order for the drama “Aquarius,” starring two-time Golden Globe Award winner David Duchovny in his return to broadcast television.

In this gripping drama series set in the late 1960s, Duchovny stars as a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated personal life who starts tracking a small-time criminal and budding cult leader seeking out vulnerable women to join his “cause.” The name of that man is Charles Manson. The twists and turns of a complicated undercover operation will lead Duchovny’s character and his young partner to the brink of Manson’s crimes that will eventually lead to the Tate-LaBianca murders in subsequent seasons.

'The Walking Dead' Season Four Finale Sets Ratings Record

Last night’s season four finale of “The Walking Dead” set a new finale record, delivering 15.7 million viewers and 10.2 million adults 18-49. The dramatic episode anchored a record-breaking night on AMC, with the live “Talking Dead” aftershow delivering a series record 7.3 million viewers and 4.7 million adults 18-49. To cap the night, the third season finale of AMC’s “Comic Book Men” at midnight was watched by 1.1 million viewers and 715,000 adults 18-49.

Season four set a new viewership record for “The Walking Dead,” averaging 13.3 million live/same day viewers per episode and 8.6 million adults 18-49, an increase of +24%/+22% over the season three average.

Showtime Renews 'Nurse Jackie' For Seventh Season

In advance of its sixth season premiere, today SHOWTIME announced that it has picked up a seventh season of its signature comedy series NURSE JACKIE. The announcement was made by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc. NURSE JACKIE stars Edie Falco in her Emmy® Award-winning and Golden Globe® and SAG-nominated role, and returns for a sixth season on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. The seventh season of the series, which is a co-production of SHOWTIME and Lionsgate, will begin filming in New York later this year.

Amazon Studios Renews 'Alpha House', Greenlights Six New Series

Syfy Sets Premiere Dates For 'Defiance' & 'Dominion'

This June, Syfy furthers its commitment to premium scripted programming by dedicating an all-new night to original dramas. Beginning June 19, Syfy will kick off its new Thursday night block with the one-two punch of the season two premiere of Defiance, followed by the series premiere of Syfy’s newest scripted series, Dominion.

As the story of Defiance resumes, the lives of the townspeople are in drastic turmoil. The Earth Republic has assumed control of the town, with far-reaching consequences including a new mayor. Nolan (Grant Bowler) traverses the badlands to find a lost Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas), Amanda (Julie Benz) has an unexpected new role in the town as she searches for Kenya and the Tarr family desperately tries to keep control of their criminal empire in the midst of dramatic changes. Joining the cast this season are James Murray as new mayor Niles Pottinger, Anna Hopkins as Earth Republic soldier Jessica “Berlin” Rai and William Atherton as Earth Republic official Viceroy Mercado.

Syfy Renews 'Helix' For A Second Season

Helix, Syfy’s chilling scripted drama, has been renewed for a second season, it was announced today by Bill McGoldrick, EVP, Original Content, Syfy. The 13-episode second season will commence production later this year, with an eye towards a winter 2015 premiere.

Leading into the annual Upfront season AMC – the network and brand committed to delivering rich stories and characters that provide viewers something more – announces a robust development slate including numerous scripted drama projects, its first foray into scripted comedy, “overall” talent deals, and several new unscripted series.

The network’s first scripted comedy project will be the greenlight of a pilot for “We Hate Paul Revere.” Written, executive produced and starring Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner (the duo worked together on “My Boys,” “Whitney”), “We Hate Paul Revere” tells the story of brothers Hugh and Ebenezer Moody and their struggle to find their place and the recognition they believe they deserve as they live in the shadow of history in Colonial Boston. “We Hate Paul Revere” is set to shoot in Q3’14 for consideration for 2015.

'Those Who Kill' To Relaunch On LMN

After only two episodes on A&E, Those Who Kill was pulled from their schedule after lackluster ratings. The premiere episode attracted only 1.4 million viewers and a 0.5 in the all important 18-49 demographic. The second episode did worse attracted only 900,000 total viewers and a 0.3 in the 18-49 demo.

Now the series is getting a second chance as it will move to LMN on March 30th. The pilot episode will premiere at 8pm and the second episode will premiere at 9pm, followed by a new episode at 10pm.

Those Who Kill is based on the Danish television series Den som dræber and follows Pittsburgh homicide detective Catherine Jensen (Chloe Sevigny) as she partners with a forensic psychologist (James D’Arcy) to track down serial killers and investigate her father, a Pittsburgh judge who she believes killed her long-missing brother.

History's 'Vikings' Renewed For Third Season

What comes as no surprise to anyone, the History Channel today announced it will renew its hit series Vikings for a third season.
