Michael Ealy Joins 'The Following' Cast

michael-ealy-gold-background-062-400x295

Fans are about to witness the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to an actor.

TVLine first reported that Michael Ealy will join the cast in season three as the main bad guy. His character is described as a “brilliant, chameleon-like” murderer who’ll test Ryan Hardy’s limits,

Michael was last seen on the small screen in the short lived FOX sci-fi drama Almost Human. He played the caring and sympathetic android Dorian. The network decided to cancel the show after thirteen episodes, but that hasn't stopped fans of Almost Human to start a petition to get the show back on the air. Whether that will happen will remain to be seen, but for now fans will have to settle for Ealy's upcoming work on The Following.

Hulu Gives Straight-To-Series Order To Amy Poehler's 'Difficult People'

AmyPoehler_credit_Hannah_Kasulka

Hulu today announced a straight-to-series pick-up of Difficult People from executive producers Amy Poehler (Parks & Recreation) and Dave Becky (Louie). The half-hour comedy series marks the first collaboration between Hulu and Universal Cable Productions and is set to start production early next year.

Difficult People hails from Julie Klausner (Billy on the Street) who stars alongside Emmy®-nominated Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner. As best friends living in New York City, their typical, irreverent behavior lands them in some very awkward situations. Klausner wrote the pilot and will also serve as an executive producer for the series.

In addition to the 7th (and final) season of Parks and Recreation, Poehler and recently announced new partner Brooke Posch’s Paper Kite Productions produces the hit shows Broad City on Comedy Central and NBC’s Welcome to Sweden.

bradleywhitford

Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe nominee Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) has joined the cast of the SHOWTIME comedy pilot HAPPYISH, playing “Jonathan Cooke,” Thom Payne's boss and an advertising industry legend whose success is due in equal parts to his creative genius and moral cravenness. An acclaimed television, film, and theater actor, Bradley Whitford is best known for his award-winning role as "Josh Lyman" in The West Wing, which earned him multiple Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. His other television credits include Trophy Wife, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Transparent, Alpha House, The Good Guys, ER, The Secret Lives of Men, Parks and Recreation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Drunk History, The Mentalist, NYPD Blue, and Shameless on SHOWTIME. FOX Orders More 'Mindy Project'

The_Mindy_Project

There seems to be a little angel looking out for the Mindy Project. FOX announced that it has ordered six more episodes for the struggling comedy.

Originally, FOX announced a 15 episode third season for the series, but this additional episode order brings the total to 21 episodes and a hair away from a full season.

In it's third season, the comedy is averaging a 1.6 in the all important 18-49 demographic and 3.1 million viewers, which also includes seven days of DVR playback numbers.

Some may be scratching their heads when it comes to the additional episode order, but FOX is quick to point out that the show's ratings increase 99 percent when you include 30 days of playback across multiple platforms and the fact the series does well with female viewers.
