FOX Renews 'Gotham', Brooklyn Nine-Nine', 'Empire'; Pick Up 'Scream Queens' & More

Today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour, it was FOX's turn to take the stage and talk about the future plans for the network.

What seems like a no brainer, the network has ordered a second season of its hit freshman series Empire starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. In its first two airings, the series has done extremely well for the network. Both outings it has built on the lead-in audience from American Idol.

NBC 'Heroes: Reborn' Casting News, Eva Longoria Comedy Pick up, 'Hannibal' On The Move & More

Today, it was NBC's turn at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California where they made several programming announcements. One of the biggest was about it's Heroes reboot entitled Heroes: Reborn.

Zachary Levi is making his long-awaited return to television in NBC’s upcoming event miniseries “Heroes Reborn” to play a key yet undisclosed role.

Levi is best known for his popular starring role on the NBC series “Chuck,” which ran for five seasons as well as his role as Fandral in the Marvel franchise “Thor: The Dark World.” Levi also made his Broadway debut in the musical "First Date" for which he received critical acclaim.

Syfy Developing 'Spin' Miniseries

Syfy announced today that Jim Uhls (Fight Club, Semper Fi, Jumper) has signed on to adapt Robert Charles Wilson’s Hugo Award novel, Spin, into a six hour miniseries. The widely acclaimed novel centers on a young scientist trying to save humanity from the impending apocalypse of a mysterious, impenetrable cloud that has enveloped the entire Earth, blacking out the stars.

Spin, originally published in 2005, is the first of a trilogy in the best-selling series that also includes Axis and Vortex.

Ian Ziering & Tara Reid Back For 'Sharknado 3'

Come on folks, don't act like you didn't know this was going to happen! Time for some more sharks and some more fun with the latest installment of the Sharknado franchise.

Syfy and The Asylum today announced that the original Sharknado survivors will return for the most epic shark attack yet! Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will reunite for the global pop culture sensation Sharknado 3, reprising their roles as Fin and April, respectively.

Woody Allen To Create Series For Amazon Studios

Amazon Studios today announced it has signed the critically-acclaimed Director Woody Allen to write and direct his first television series ever. Untitled Woody Allen Project, a half-hour series, has received a full season order and episodes will be written and directed by Allen. Customers will be able to see the series exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the US, UK and Germany. Additional details, including casting information, will be made available in the future.

Showtime Renews 'Shameless', Picks Up 'Happyish', Announces Premiere Dates For 'Nurse Jackie' & 'Penny Dreadful'

Today was a big day for the Showtime network as they gave their presentation at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.

First, David Nevins, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. announced that Shameless has been renewed for a 12 episode sixth season with production due to begin later this year. The hit series is Showtime's highest rated comedy and just kicked off its fifth season this past Sunday.

CBS Renews 'Scorpion', 'Madam Secretary' & 'NCIS: New Orleans'

There is a lot to smile about for CBS these days. The network announced early renewals for three of its freshman dramas. Getting second season orders for the 2015-2016 broadcast season are Scorpion, Madam Secretary and NCIS: New Orleans.

The three freshman dramas are the top three new series this season and all have done extremely well for CBS. All three rank among network television’s top 10 series, and are produced by CBS Television Studios.

“These freshman dramas have each made a big impact on key nights of the week,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. “Creatively distinctive, the series are backed by strong showrunners with amazingly talented casts, and have resonated with a big, broad audience.”

Netflix Releases 'House Of Cards' Season 3 Trailer

It's a good night for Kevin Spacey and fans of the hit Netflix series House of Cards.

First, Kevin Spacey took home the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television series for his work as Frank Underwood. Second, Netlfix has just released the first official season three trailer for its landmark series.

The series will return on February 27th with thirteen brand new episodes.

CW Gives Early Renewals To 8 Series

It's a good day to be fans of the shows on the CW. Today at its TCA panel, the network announced early renewals for all eight of its scripted series.

Renewed for the 2015-2016 season were Arrow, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, The 100, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. The early renewals shows the confidence the network has in all of its scripted series.

“Each of these series have helped define what the CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said CW prexy Mark Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees the CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”
