Showtime's 'Homeland' To Return For 7th & 8th Seasons, 'Ray Donovan' Renewed & Premiere Dates Announced
David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc, had some big announcements at the 2016 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour today.
First, Nevins announced the season premiere dates for both Homeland and Billions.Homeland returns for season six on Sunday, January 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and season two of the critically-acclaimed hit drama Billions returns on Sunday, February 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Both series are shooting in New York this Summer with Homeland returning to the U.S. after spending the last two seasons shooting in South Africa and Berlin.
Season six of Homeland will once again star Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Mandy Patinkin. Billions stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis as they scorch the earth in a costly war for personal domination.
We also had some renewal news from Showtime. Homeland will be coming back for a seventh and eight season, while the network announced today that it had renewed its critically acclaimed series Ray Donovan for a fifth season.
Production on Ray Donovan's five 12, one-hour episodes will begin next year. One of the top-rated drama series on premium television this summer, the Ray Donovan returned for its fourth season up double digits year over year.
Ray Donovan stars Liev Schrieber, Jon Voight, Dash Mihok, Paula Malcomson, Pooch Hall and Eddie Marsan.
