FOX renews The Following, New Girl, The Mindy Project and Raising Hope

fox-network Today Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment Fox Broadcasting Company, announced several renews for the 2013-14 season at FOX. The network has picked up the highly buzzed about drama The Following for a second season.  After only six airings, The Following is already the No. 2 broadcast drama and the No. 3 drama overall this season with Live+7 ratings. Since it launched, the psychological thriller has also quickly established itself as one of the most buzzed-about series in social media, ranking as the No. 1 new broadcast drama in total social comments. “From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Reilly. “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season.” Also being picked up for new seasons are the Tuesday night comedy block of New Girl, The Mindy Project and Raising Hope. “We love working with these talented producers and casts who, week after week, create some of the funniest work on television,” said Reilly. “These shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the FOX comedy brand next season and beyond.”

Hill Harper joins USA's Covert Affairs

Hill-HARPER_lower1

Hill Harper (“CSI: NY”) has signed on to star as a series regular in season four of USA’s critically-acclaimed drama series COVERT AFFAIRS opposite Golden Globe®-nominated Piper Perabo (“Looper”),  Christopher Gorham (“Ugly Betty”), Kari Matchett (“Invasion”) and Peter Gallagher (“The O.C.”). The series, produced by Universal Cable Productions, films in Toronto and will span 16 episodes for season four. Harper will play an ambitious CIA station chief based in Latin America. Intelligent, charismatic and a bit cocky, he ascended to a very high position at a relatively young age and is plotting his way into a bigger position back in Washington. In his journey for greater power, he will attempt to make Annie and Auggie his allies, but his questionable actions will cause our leads to doubt his intentions. Season four of COVERT AFFAIRS picks up after CIA operative Annie (Perabo) and her longtime best friend and blind CIA tech-op Auggie (Gorham) finally acknowledge their romantic feelings for one another.  Things get complicated at the agency, as Annie aligns with Henry Wilcox (guest star Gregory Itzin) in a dangerous, covert mission that has potentially scandalous consequences for the CIA. Harper is an award-winning actor, bestselling author and philanthropist. A star of the long running TV drama CSI: NY and the author of four New York Times bestsellers, he has earned seven NAACP Image Awards for his writing and acting. Harper is also the founder of the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, dedicated to empowering under-served youth through mentorship, scholarship and grant programs. From Universal Cable Productions, COVERT AFFAIRS is executive produced by Doug Liman (SUITS, the "Bourne" trilogy, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith") and David Bartis (SUITS, "The O.C.") through Hypnotic and is written and executive produced by show creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord.
