CBS Cancels 'Unforgettable' After Three Seasons

After renewing Under the Dome, Extant and cancelling Reckless, CBS has made another decision on its last summer series. The network had decided to cancel Unforgettable after three seasons.

This is the second time the series has been cancelled by the network. In its third and now final season, the series averaged 6 million viewers.

Unforgettable starred Poppy Montgomery as detective Carrie Wells who has hyperthymesia, a rare medical condition that gives her the ability to visually remember everything.

CBS Renews 'Under the Dome', 'Extant'; Cancels 'Reckless'

The ruling has come down for several summer series for the CBS. The network has decided to renew Under the Dome and Extant, while cancelling freshman series Reckless.

"We're committed to delivering our viewers and advertisers year-round programming with a wide variety of storytelling," said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. "We continue to see summer as a great place for unique concepts, innovative business models and passionate television audiences."

The successful second season of UNDER THE DOME was the summer’s top scripted series, with 11 million viewers, 2.7/08 in adults 18-49 and 3.6/10 in adults 25-54. EXTANT, starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry, won its 10:00 PM time period with 8.64 million viewers, 1.7/06 in adults 18-49 and 2.3/07 in adults 25-54. In addition to their broadcast on the Network, UNDER THE DOME and EXTANT had additional viewing on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video, which provided exclusive online subscription streaming four days after the airing on CBS.

CBS Renews 'Big Brother' For Two More Seasons

With the winner of the sixteenth edition of Big Brother to be revealed in just hours, CBS has made an announcement that will sure to please diehard Big Brother fans!

CBS has renewed the summer reality hit BIG BROTHER for its 17th and 18th editions for broadcast in summer 2015 and 2016. The series is hosted by Julie Chen.

Since premiering on CBS in the summer of 2000, BIG BROTHER has consistently finished among the summer’s top-rated series in young demographics. This summer’s edition is up +2% in viewers (7.56m from 7.39m) and +4% in adults 18-49 (2.7/09 from 2.6/08), while averaging 3.1/09 in adults 25-54 and 1.9/08 in adults 18-34. All three weekly broadcasts of BIG BROTHER rank among the top 10 programs of the summer in adults 18-49.

James Corden Officially Announced As Host Of 'The Late Late Show'

The CBS Television Network announced today that James Corden will be the new host of THE LATE LATE SHOW. Corden – a multi-faceted performer, host, writer and producer with accomplishments that span television, theater, film and comedy – will take the reins of the daily late night show in 2015.

The 36-year-old Corden comes to American late night television with a growing list of award-winning and critically acclaimed credits. He is a Tony Award-winning performer on Broadway, a BAFTA-winning star of a UK television series, a feature film actor with two releases this year, and an acclaimed host, writer and producer in several genres of television.

Currently, Corden is starring opposite Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo in “Begin Again,” which is in theaters now, and will star opposite Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt in the highly anticipated feature film “Into the Woods,” which hits theaters in December. Additionally, Corden hosts the BAFTA Award-winning UK sports-themed comedy game show “A League of Their Own” on Sky 1 and stars in, produces and writes the BAFTA nominated comedy thriller “The Wrong Mans,” which is available on Hulu and airs on the BBC.

Bow Wow Joins Cast of 'CSI: Cyber'

Hip-hop artist, television host and actor Shad Moss, a.k.a. Bow Wow, has joined the cast of CSI: CYBER. The series will premiere during the 2014-2015 season on the CBS Television Network.

Moss will play hacker Brody “Baby Face” Nelson. Nineteen going on 20, Nelson is a cyber-intrusion savant. He’s been ordered by a judge to work with Special Agent Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette) “on loan” to assist with a cyber case. The stakes are simple: assist or go to prison. Growing up without any parental guidance, Nelson joined “hacktivist” groups for his extended family. His claim to fame is when he successfully hacked into the stock exchange and wired a half billion dollars to his bank account. Nelson’s series dilemma will be working for the Feds while trying to keep his fingertips out of the Deep Web, where he was groomed to be one of the most prolific hackers in the world.

Jennifer Love Hewitt To Join Cast Of 'Criminal Minds'

After being away from CBS for four years working on several projects including her short lived series The Client List on Lifetime, Jennifer Love Hewitt will return to CBS as the newest cast member on their hit series Criminal Minds.

“We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast,” said showrunner Erica Messer. “Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season.”

She is set to play Kate Callahan, a “seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit.”

Criminal Minds will premiere its tenth season this fall on CBS.

CBS, America’s most-watched network, today announced pick-ups for 18 series for next season. Combined with its previously announced pick-ups, CBS has now renewed 20 returning series for the 2014-2015 season, encompassing 17 hours of primetime programming.

“The best way to launch new shows in the fall and throughout the season is to surround them with a strong and stable lineup of successful series,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman of CBS Entertainment. “The shows we’re picking up today cut across every night of the week and feature genre leaders, time-period winners and the most-watched shows on broadcast television.”

'The Big Bang Theory' Gets 3-Season Renewal

Being a geek is actually a good thing for the cast and crew of the hit series The Big Bang Theory!

CBS announced today a multi-year deal that will keep the series on the air through the 2016-2017 season. The Big Bang Theory is the highest rated comedy on CBS and is number one among adults 18-49.

“Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. “This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros.
