It looks like The Walking Dead is going to meet Lost, well sort of.

It was announced today that former Walking Dead cast member Sarah Wayne Callies will be joining the cast of the USA Network science fiction series Colony. The pilot comes from Carlton Cuse, former co-showrunner of the series Lost.

The series also stars Lost alum Josh Holloway and takes place in present day Los Angeles which is being occupied by alien invaders.

Sarah Wayne Callies will be playing Katie Bowman, a mother of three and wife to Holloway’s former FBI agent Will Bowman, who seeks to protect his family by collaborating with the alien government to fight the human resistance forces.

USA Network Picks Up Drama Pilot 'Colony'

usanetwork

USA Network announced today the pilot pick-up of, COLONY (Working title), from creator and executive producer Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “Bates Motel”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”). COLONY joins USA’s previously announced drama pilot pick-ups of STANISTAN (working title) and MR. ROBOT (working title).

“COLONY is a gripping story that brilliantly weaves together an intense family drama in an authentic, yet unknown, world,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “We are pleased to be in business with Ryan Condal and Carlton Cuse, who is clearly one of the best in the industry when it comes to genre fiction.”

COLONY is a naturalistic drama about a family torn by opposing forces and making difficult choices as they balance staying together with surviving the struggle of the human race. Set in the near future, the story takes place in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences. A co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, COLONY was written and is executive produced by Cuse and Condal.
