John Noble Joins 'Elementary' As Series Regular

Looks like fans of Elementary are finally going to meet Sherlock's father in the upcoming new season.

John Noble will star as Sherlock Holmes’ wealthy, estranged father when he joins the cast of ELEMENTARY as a series regular in the fall.

Currently in its third season, the CBS hit series Elementary has changed the dynamic with its main characters. Although Sherlock and Watson still work together on cases, Watson has moved into her own place and now takes on her own cases outside of the work she does with Sherlock. Adding to the change in the dynamic, the series has introduced a new character, Kitty.

CBS Renews 'NCIS', 'Elementary', 'Criminal Minds', '2 Broke Girls' & More

CBS, America’s most-watched network, today announced pick-ups for 18 series for next season. Combined with its previously announced pick-ups, CBS has now renewed 20 returning series for the 2014-2015 season, encompassing 17 hours of primetime programming.

“The best way to launch new shows in the fall and throughout the season is to surround them with a strong and stable lineup of successful series,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman of CBS Entertainment. “The shows we’re picking up today cut across every night of the week and feature genre leaders, time-period winners and the most-watched shows on broadcast television.”
