Things just got a little more interesting for fans of the FOX series Empire.
Good news for fans of Empire and The Mick.
FOX announced during their TCA presentation that they have renewed their hit series Empire for a fourth season.
Today FOX announced two series renewals, one was a no-brainer and one was a bit of a surprise.
Things just got a little more interesting in the world of Cookie, Lucius and the rest of the Empire family.
It looks like fans can't wait to have Cookie and the rest of the Empire gang back on their television screens.
The executives at FOX must really be enjoying the runaway success of its freshman drama Empire. The series debuted to almost 11 million viewers and over the first three weeks, the hip hop drama has increased in viewers and the all-important 18-49 demographic each week. The drama centers around a music mogul’s plans for the future of his empire as his three sons and his ex-wife battle each other to become the next heir apparent to the hip-hop throne.
One of the reasons for the success of the series is the work of actress Kaitlin Doubleday. The California native plays Rhonda Lyon, wife of the eldest son in the Lyon family who may be the one that is actually pulling all the strings.
Kaitlin sits down with the Pop Culture Principle to discuss her new role, why playing a strong, confident character was important to her and why it’s a good thing the people behind Empire tackle some of the biggest social issues today.
Today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour, it was FOX's turn to take the stage and talk about the future plans for the network.
What seems like a no brainer, the network has ordered a second season of its hit freshman series Empire starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. In its first two airings, the series has done extremely well for the network. Both outings it has built on the lead-in audience from American Idol.
Actress, supermodel and producer Naomi Campbell will be featured as a recurring guest star on FOX’s sexy and powerful new family drama, EMPIRE. Campbell will play CAMILLA, an alluring woman involved in a steamy affair with the much-younger potential heir to his father’s throne, HAKEEM (newcomer Bryshere Gray), over whom she exercises considerable influence. EMPIRE will debut in early 2015 on FOX.
“Naomi is a beautiful actress. Underrated in my mind,” said co-creator and executive producer Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Precious”). “She will be wonderful as Camilla. I am truly thrilled to have one of my close friends join us.”
Campbell added, “It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique, and work with Lee Daniels. I’m looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set.”
