Danny McBride Returns To HBO In 'Vice Principals'

danny-mcbride

Danny McBride, star of the hit HBO comedy series “Eastbound & Down,” will return to the network in the comedy series VICE PRINCIPALS, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. The show is slated for 18 episodes, with the debut date and number of episodes per season to be announced as they are confirmed.

“Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of,” said Lombardo. “The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible.”

“HBO was the perfect creative family for ‘Eastbound & Down,’ and we’re excited to pack up the van for the next adventure,” notes McBride.

“When the idea for the new series became too crazy to keep to ourselves, we knew HBO was the perfect place to unleash it,” says executive producer David Gordon Green.

Created by Danny McBride and Jody Hill, who were also the creators of “Eastbound & Down,” VICE PRINCIPALS tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals.

Concluding its four-season run on HBO in 2013, “Eastbound & Down” starred McBride as irrepressible former major league pitcher Kenny Powers.

VICE PRINCIPALS is executive produced by Danny McBride, Jody Hill, David Gordon Green and Stephanie Laing, who were also executive producers of “Eastbound & Down.”

HBO's 'The Comeback' Returns This Fall

Lisa Kudrow in The Comeback

B level” TV star Valerie Cherish was a pioneer of reality television. Now, it’s ten years later – there’s more TV than ever and she wants back in.

Lisa Kudrow (Emmy® winner for “Friends”) stars as the embattled Valerie Cherish, a fading TV “It Girl” who was once so desperate to stay in the spotlight that she allowed cameras to follow her every move as she appeared on a new sitcom – with disastrous results.

When the comedy series THE COMEBACK returns as a new six-episode limited series this fall, exclusively on HBO, Valerie thinks she has it all figured out this time. She doesn’t. Scheduled to begin production in Los Angeles this month, the show was created by Michael Patrick King (Emmy® winner for HBO’s “Sex and the City”) and Lisa Kudrow, who will serve as executive producers along with producing partner Dan Bucatinsky (Emmy® winner for “Scandal”).

'Game Of Thrones' To End After Season 7?

game-of-thrones-season-4-stills-give-away-clues

With the Season Four premiere of HBO's hit series Game of Thrones just around the corner, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss talked to Entertainment Weekly about their plans for the show's conclusion.

"If we’re going to go seven seasons, which is the plan, season 4 is right down the middle, the pivot point", said David Benioff.

“I would say it’s the goal we’ve had from the beginning,” Benioff says. “It was our unstated goal, because to start on a show and say your goal is seven seasons is the height of lunacy.

"Once we got to the point where we felt like we’re going to be able to tell this tale to its conclusion, that became [an even clearer] goal. Seven gods, seven kingdoms, seven seasons. It feels right to us.”

Season 5 of Game of Thrones premieres on April 6th.
