USA Network Renews 'Mr. Robot' For A Third Season
Today's news from the USA Network really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
It’s that time of year were different television news sites post their lists of the best shows that 2015 had to offer. We here at The PC Principle are no different, but we compiled our list using different criteria.
USA Network announced its first series pick-up from its existing pilot slate for the 2015-2016 season with a 10-episode order for MR. ROBOT (WORKING TITLE). The intense hacker drama from Universal Cable Productions is from writer and executive producer Sam Esmail (“Comet”) and executive producers Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin (“True Detective”) and Chad Hamilton (“Breakup at a Wedding”). The series stars Rami Malek (“24”), Christian Slater (“The Adderall Diaries”), Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”) and Martin Wallstrom (“Simple Simon”). The pilot was directed by Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”). The series will shoot in New York.
It looks like you can't keep Christian Slater down for long. We last saw the veteran actor as the lead on the short lived ABC drama Mind Games, but now he's back to headline a new pilot.
As reported by Deadline, the pilot for Mr. Robot follows Elliot (Rami Malek), who suffers from severe anti-social disorders and in his mind, the only way he can connect with people is by hacking them.
Christian has signed on to play Mr. Robot, who is described as a mysterious anarchist who recruits Elliot into an underground hacker group. Also attached to the pilot are Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallström.
