Mary McCormack And Alicia Witt To Guest Star On 'House Of Lies'

Tony® Award nominee Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight) has signed on as guest star on the fourth season of the hit SHOWTIME comedy series HOUSE OF LIES. McCormack will play Denna Altshuler, a tough, highly successful white knight investor who Marty (series star and executive producer Don Cheadle in his Golden Globe® Award-winning and three-time Emmy®-nominated role) recruits to help save Kaan & Associates. Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Alicia Witt (Justified) will also guest star as Maya Lindholm, a brilliant engineer who comes to Marty’s rescue when he’s in a bind. McCormack and Witt join previously announced guest stars Larenz Tate (Rush), who returns as Marty’s brother Malcolm, and Demetri Martin (The Daily Show with John Stewart) and Valorie Curry (The Following). Production on HOUSE OF LIES started last month for a Sunday, January 11th at 10 pm.. ET/PT premiere on the network.

Showtime Releases 'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 Teaser

Season 1 of Showtime's Penny Dreadful was definitely a hit for the network. The series debuted with 1.43 million viewers across the entire night and was renewed shortly after it's strong premiere. The finale of the series drew 1.27 million viewers total for the night.

The series is currently in production in Dublin, Ireland and will consist of ten episodes for the second season instead of eight that made up Season 1. The show is set to return sometime in 2015.

Returning for the second season will be Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Eva Green, Helen McCrory and Simon Russell Beale. New cast members for Season 2 will include Sarah Greene, Jonny Beauchamp, Douglas Hodge and Patti Lupone.

'Twin Peaks' To Return As Showtime Limited Series

Sometimes having a little faith can be a good thing. The cult classic Twin Peaks will be returning on Showtime as a limited series.

The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc.

“What more can I say – TWIN PEAKS with David Lynch and Mark Frost on SHOWTIME in 2016!” said Nevins. “To quote Agent Cooper, ‘I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.’”

Lynch and Frost added: “The mysterious and special world of Twin Peaks is pulling us back. We’re very excited. May the forest be with you.”

Over the years there have been rumors of a possible return of the show in some format and the fans of the series have always been vocal about wanting some sort of return for the series.

Beginning Sunday, January 11th, SHOWTIME will celebrate the New Year with its three Emmy-nominated leads William H. Macy, Don Cheadle and Matt LeBlanc when brand new seasons of SHAMELESS (9 p.m.), HOUSE OF LIES (10 p.m.) and EPISODES (10:30 p.m.) return on the network’s powerhouse, triple-header Sunday night.

First up at 9 p.m. ET/PT, it’s the fifth season of SHAMELESS starring Oscar® nominee and Emmy winner William H. Macy as pickled patriarch Frank Gallagher and Golden Globe® nominee Emmy Rossum as daughter Fiona. Recently garnering three Emmy Award nominations in the Comedy category, SHAMELESS season five finds the Gallaghers dealing with both the upside and downside of personal and urban renewal. As their neighborhood begins a move towards gentrifying, the Gallagher clan begins to reconcile their chaotic past in the hopes of building a better future. Dermot Mulroney and Steve Kazee and Sasha Alexander will guest star. It's almost time to head back to the world of Showtime's hit series Homeland.

The network has just released a new action packed trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the popular series.

The season four premiere begins with a double episode on October 5th.

Patti Lupone To Guest Star On Season 2 Of 'Penny Dreadful'; Two Cast Members Upped To Series Regulars

Two-time Tony® Award winner and Emmy® nominee Patti LuPone (American Horror Story, Life Goes On, Evita, Gypsy) is signing on as a guest star on the second season of the hit SHOWTIME drama series PENNY DREADFUL. The stage legend will play a mysterious character of great importance in Vanessa’s (Eva Green) past.

In addition, award-winning British actors Helen McCrory (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, As You Like It, Medea), and Simon Russell Beale (MI-5, Uncle Vanya, King Lear) have been upped to series regulars. McCrory returns as Evelyn Poole (a.k.a. Madame Kali), the seductive spiritualist who will pose a unique threat to our protagonists this season, along with Beale, who is back as eccentric Egyptologist Ferdinand Lyle. Production on the second season’s 10 episodes, written by John Logan, will begin in September in Dublin, Ireland for a 2015 debut on the network.

Cast members McCrory and Beale will be joined by a wealth of new guest stars this season. In addition to LuPone, Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge (La Cages aux Folles, Robin Hood) signs on as Bartholomew Rusk, an intense Scotland Yard investigator on the hunt to discover who is responsible for the terrible murders that have been plaguing London. Sarah Greene (The Guard, Vikings) will play Hecate, Poole’s powerful daughter and Jonny Beauchamp (How To Make It In America, Stonewall) will portray a young man with a singular past.

Showtime Renews 'Ray Donovan', 'Masters of Sex'

Hot off the continued critical and audience acclaim for the second seasons of RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX, SHOWTIME is green lighting third seasons for both of its hit drama series. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc. Both series will receive 12 one-hour episode orders, and will begin production in early 2015.

“Both RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX are quintessentially SHOWTIME: bold, provocative, premium television with production values at the top of the food chain,” says Nevins. “These acclaimed shows are filled with complex and interesting characters and settings that will no doubt give audiences compelling television to invest in for seasons to come.”

MASTERS OF SEX scored five Emmy® Award nominations this year, including nods for actors Lizzy Caplan, Beau Bridges and Allison Janney, who was honored this past weekend with an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Margaret Scully. RAY DONOVAN’s Jon Voight is also an Emmy contender, receiving his first ever series nomination for his role as Mickey Donovan. Both series continue to resonate with the network’s subscribers, delivering season high numbers for their past few episodes. MASTERS OF SEX’s fifth episode delivered the series’ highest ratings of the season, up 18 percent versus the season two premiere. The series currently averages nearly four million viewers across platforms per week. Similarly, RAY DONOVAN’s fifth episode was up 16 percent versus its season two premiere, and season-to-date is averaging five million weekly viewers across platforms.

'Homeland' Returns With Two-Hour Premiere; 'The Affair' To Premiere Early
