The BBC America series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is unlike anything that is on television right now. It’s quirky, it’s violent, but one thing you can say, it’s definitely entertaining.
It was a stellar day for fans of series on The CW network today.
The CW Network has given early renewals to 11 of its primetime series for the 2016-2017 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
Netflix just keeps chugging along with its slate of original programming. Well, you can add another series to the list.
The streaming giant announced that it has order an untitled supernatural drama ((formerly known as Montauk), that will star Winona Ryder and David Harbour.
Canadian born actor Brooke Nevin is proving that with hard work and determination, you can have a successful and consistent career in the up and down world of acting. She has been a series regular on shows such as Call Me Fitz, Animorph and Breakout Kings.
Fans of shows on the CW can now start to prepare and make sure their schedules are clear.
The network announced the season finale dates for their most popular shows. All the series except for Hart of Dixie have been renewed for another season. The fate of Hart of Dixie is still in the air.
A&E just aired the premiere episode of its new series The Returned. The show is an adaptation of the French series Les Revenants, which was broadcast internationally with the title The Returned. The series follows residents in a small town whose lives are disrupted when people who have been dead for many years begin reappearing. One of the stars of the series is veteran actor Mark Pellegrino. The pilot for The Returned was written by Carlton Cuse who also worked with Mark on the hit series Lost.
It's a good day to be fans of the shows on the CW. Today at its TCA panel, the network announced early renewals for all eight of its scripted series.
Renewed for the 2015-2016 season were Arrow, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, The 100, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. The early renewals shows the confidence the network has in all of its scripted series.
“Each of these series have helped define what the CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said CW prexy Mark Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees the CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”
In the world of film and television, it can sometimes be a competitive and difficult road to travel. Constant auditions, rejections and sometimes not knowing when your next job is going to be. You need to be a special breed of person in order to navigate those rough waters.
One up and coming actress who is definitely handling the rough waters and staying grounded is Canadian born actress Elysia Rotaru. She recently joined several friends and starred in the Crazy 8s film project Earthlickers, which recently premiered at the Whistler Film Festival. The film is about a barren post-apocalyptic future, where seven sexy Goddesses (X,T,C,O,R,G,Y) of the Merkabatron descend upon a wretched Earth to convey the message that the Vibration of Love can heal all. Now, the movie may sound a bit out there, but it does have a serious message that the filmmakers want you to understand.
Currently in its tenth season, Supernatural shows no signs of slowing down and its popularity is as strong as it was in the beginning. The series has a way of introducing some fantastic characters into the Supernatural universe that only adds to the greatness of the series.
One such character that was recently introduced was a witch named Rowena. The character is played by Scottish actress Ruth Connell who is definitely enjoying the ride so far playing the “big bad” in the current season.
Ruth sat down with the Pop Culture Principle to talk about booking the Supernatural job, working with Jared and Jensen and how amazing the Supernatural fans have been to her.
