AMC'S 'TURN: Washington's Spies' Moves To Mondays; Season 2 Premiere April 13th

AMC announced today that the network’s historical spy drama “TURN: Washington’s Spies” will shift to Monday nights for its second season and premiere on Monday, April 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with a special two-hour episode. The series will then move to Monday at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT for the remainder of the season. The move continues the network’s original programming expansion into Monday nights that began earlier this month with the premiere of “Better Call Saul.”

Craig Platt Joins Showtime As SVP; Emily Gould Promoted To SVP

Today, Showtime Networks Inc. announced that Craig Platt has joined the network as its new Senior Vice President, Creative Advertising, and that Emily Gould has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing. Platt will be responsible for establishing the conceptual and stylistic direction and creative output for the networks’ print and broadcast marketing, advertising and affiliate campaigns, and managing the network’s team of creative directors, writers, producers, designers and copywriters. In her new role, Emily Gould will oversee the network’s consumer marketing strategy, and spearhead the strategic development and execution of all consumer marketing initiatives, while managing the SHOWTIME Program Marketing, Marketing Services and Advertising teams. She will also collaborate with SHOWTIME Sports® on consumer marketing tactics, and will oversee the marketing and promotion of acquired theatricals and documentaries. The announcements were made by Donald Buckley, Executive Vice President, Program Marketing, Media, Promotions and Digital Services, Showtime Networks Inc., to whom they report.

Has the magic truly run out for Witches of East End? If you have been living under a rock for the past several months, Lifetime cancelled its fan favorite series Witches of East End after two seasons on the air. The season two finale left fans wanting more and definitely would have setup an exciting and entertaining season three.

After news of the cancellation, fans immediately took to social media to voice their anger and disappointment that the network had decided to cancel the series. Several members of the cast including Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Eric Winter and Daniel di Tomasso took to Twitter to respond to the news and thank the fans for supporting the show. Even Executive Vice President of Lifetime, Robert Sharenow admitted that it was hard for him to cancel the series and that even his daughter was upset with him for doing so.

'Last Week Tonight With John Oliver' Renewed For Two More Seasons

HBO has renewed LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER for its third and fourth seasons, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Consisting of 35 shows apiece, season three will run on HBO in 2016, to be followed by season four in 2017.

“We are incredibly proud to have John as part of the HBO family,” said Lombardo. “His unique ability to deliver socially significant commentary week after week, along with his innate comedic brilliance, puts John in a class by himself.”

Last year, Hallmark Channel became the destination for all things Christmas. The network celebrated the holidays with its Countdown to Christmas. Twelve brand new original movies were aired during the holiday season to record ratings for the network. With the success of Countdown to Christmas, the network is back this year with its Countdown to Valentine's Day.

The Hallmark Channel will be airing five brand new original movies to celebrate love and Valentine's Day. On February 14th, the final original movie, All of My Heart will air starring Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott.

All of My Heart follows A young caterer’s life (Lacey Chabert) that suddenly changes course when she inherits a country home and learns she must share it with a career-obsessed Wall Street trader (Brennan Elliott). At first, these opposites do not attract, but feelings begin to change when they find themselves having to work side-by-side to restore their newly acquired home.

Cinemax Picks Up 'Outcast' To Series

CINEMAX has picked up the ten-episode drama series OUTCAST, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Created and executive produced by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) and Chris Black and produced for CINEMAX by FOX International Channels (FIC), the show will also be executive produced by David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC and Sue Naegle.

“We are thrilled to be in business with Robert Kirkman, a visionary talent who has the unique ability to tap into today’s zeitgeist, making him a perfect fit for the newly expanded CINEMAX roster,” said Lombardo.

'Banshee' To Return In 2016 For Season Four

The hit action series BANSHEE will return to CINEMAX in 2016 for a fourth season of eight episodes, which will shoot in Pittsburgh, Pa., it was announced today by Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming. The Emmy®-winning show is currently in its third season, with episodes debuting Fridays at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). BANSHEE’s fourth season will be executive produced by Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes, Jonathan Tropper, Peter Macdissi, Adam Targum and Ole Christian Madsen.

TNT Renews 'The Librarians' For Second Season

Fans of the freshman series are definitely in a good mood with today's announcement.

TNT has renewed its hit fantasy-adventure The Librarians. One of the hottest new shows on cable, The Librarians burst onto the scene with a chart-topping launch in December and went on to finish the year as basic cable's #2 new series of 2014, second only to TNT's The Last Ship. The show's success extends across TNT's multiple platforms, with each week's episode reaching an average of 11.4 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR playback and VOD, digital and mobile viewing. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to launch later this year.

Despite The Rumors, 'Beauty & The Beast' Has Not Been Renewed

There are several news sites that are reporting the CW series Beauty & the Beast had been renewed for a fourth season. That of course sent fans of the series into a frenzy and led to many people tweeting the information as well.

Unfortunately, the rumors are not true. Pop Culture Principle has confirmed that the series has not been renewed. We reached out to the CW and were given the following statement:

"The story is incorrect. No decision has been made at this point regarding a fourth season of Beauty and the Beast."

Earlier this year, the network handed out several early renewals showing the network has strong confidence in the series it had renewed. We will keep you posted on any developments.
