NBC Announces 'Heroes Reborn' Not Returning For Second Season

Fans of the Heroes revival received some bad, yet not surprising news today.

NBC’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt confirmed to reporters that Heroes Reborn would not be returning for a second season.

“[One season] was always the plan, unless [creator Tim Kring] woke up one day and said, ‘I have another chapter to tell,’ ” Greenblatt said. “But I think we’re coming to the end of the world, maybe. Stay tuned. As far as I know, there are no more incarnations of Heroes coming.”

Although there was a lot of buzz for the series return, it got off to an ok start and the ratings never really took off. Although Heroes Reborn was billed as a one-time limited series, we are sure it's a safe bet that if the ratings had been much better-there would have been discussion for another season.

The original Heroes ran for four seasons beginning in 2006 and became some what of a pop culture phenomenon during its first few seasons. Several of the original cast members reprised their roles for the revival.
