On April 21st, the world lost one of the most gifted, talented and mysterious musicians to ever exist.

Prince Rogers Nelson was found dead at Paisley Park, the place where he created so much amazing music and that music touched the lives of millions.

We are not here to discuss the circumstances surrounding his death, but we are here to celebrate the man and his music. We had the opportunity to interview one person who had intimate knowledge of being around and working with Prince.

We had originally planned to release this interview at a later date, but since Prince’s passing, we thought it is the right to to go ahead and release this interview.

We sat down with Susan Rogers, who was the sound engineer for Prince from 1983 through 1988. She has been credited for being the one who started Prince’s “vault” where all of his unreleased music and videos were stored.

Currently, Susan is an Associate Professor of Music Production and Engineering at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

In our interview with Susan, we talk about her first hearing Prince, her time working with him and how the vault was actually started and more.
