'House of Lies', 'Shameless' & 'Episodes' To Return In January

Beginning Sunday, January 11th, SHOWTIME will celebrate the New Year with its three Emmy-nominated leads William H. Macy, Don Cheadle and Matt LeBlanc when brand new seasons of SHAMELESS (9 p.m.), HOUSE OF LIES (10 p.m.) and EPISODES (10:30 p.m.) return on the network’s powerhouse, triple-header Sunday night.

First up at 9 p.m. ET/PT, it’s the fifth season of SHAMELESS starring Oscar® nominee and Emmy winner William H. Macy as pickled patriarch Frank Gallagher and Golden Globe® nominee Emmy Rossum as daughter Fiona. Recently garnering three Emmy Award nominations in the Comedy category, SHAMELESS season five finds the Gallaghers dealing with both the upside and downside of personal and urban renewal. As their neighborhood begins a move towards gentrifying, the Gallagher clan begins to reconcile their chaotic past in the hopes of building a better future. Dermot Mulroney and Steve Kazee and Sasha Alexander will guest star. The series stars Macy and Rossum, along with Ethan Cutkosky, Emily Bergl, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Cameron Monaghan, Jeremy Allen White, Noel Fisher and special guest star Joan Cusack. Based on the long-running hit U.K. series, SHAMELESS is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning television and film producer John Wells, Andrew Stearn, Christopher Chulack, Davey Holmes and Nancy Pimental. Wells developed the series for American television. Paul Abbott serves as executive consultant. SHAMELESS is produced by Bonanza Productions, Inc. in association with John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Showtime Releases New 'Homeland' Season 4 Trailer

It's almost time to head back to the world of Showtime's hit series Homeland.

The network has just released a new action packed trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the popular series.

The season four premiere begins with a double episode on October 5th.

Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie' To End Run After Season 7

After six award-winning and critically-acclaimed seasons, NURSE JACKIE, the SHOWTIME hit comedy starring the extraordinary Edie Falco, will begin production this week on its seventh and final season, it was announced today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc. The series, which premiered in 2009, instantly became one of the network’s signature series, garnering multiple awards, including several Emmy® Awards, a Humanitas Prize, an AFI Award for “Outstanding Television Program” and several Prism Awards for its depiction of substance abuse. It has also placed its star Edie Falco in the rare position of being the only actress to ever win the lead acting Emmy Awards in both comedy and drama, and the most nominated television performer in Screen Actors Guild Awards history. As one of the highest-rated SHOWTIME comedies, as well as the network’s top female skewing comedy, NURSE JACKIE averaged 3.4 million weekly viewers across platforms in its sixth season, once again outperforming its prior season. NURSE JACKIE is a co-production between SHOWTIME and Lionsgate.

Patti Lupone To Guest Star On Season 2 Of 'Penny Dreadful'; Two Cast Members Upped To Series Regulars

Two-time Tony® Award winner and Emmy® nominee Patti LuPone (American Horror Story, Life Goes On, Evita, Gypsy) is signing on as a guest star on the second season of the hit SHOWTIME drama series PENNY DREADFUL. The stage legend will play a mysterious character of great importance in Vanessa’s (Eva Green) past.

In addition, award-winning British actors Helen McCrory (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, As You Like It, Medea), and Simon Russell Beale (MI-5, Uncle Vanya, King Lear) have been upped to series regulars. McCrory returns as Evelyn Poole (a.k.a. Madame Kali), the seductive spiritualist who will pose a unique threat to our protagonists this season, along with Beale, who is back as eccentric Egyptologist Ferdinand Lyle. Production on the second season’s 10 episodes, written by John Logan, will begin in September in Dublin, Ireland for a 2015 debut on the network.

Cast members McCrory and Beale will be joined by a wealth of new guest stars this season. In addition to LuPone, Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge (La Cages aux Folles, Robin Hood) signs on as Bartholomew Rusk, an intense Scotland Yard investigator on the hunt to discover who is responsible for the terrible murders that have been plaguing London. Sarah Greene (The Guard, Vikings) will play Hecate, Poole’s powerful daughter and Jonny Beauchamp (How To Make It In America, Stonewall) will portray a young man with a singular past.

Showtime Renews 'Ray Donovan', 'Masters of Sex'

Hot off the continued critical and audience acclaim for the second seasons of RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX, SHOWTIME is green lighting third seasons for both of its hit drama series. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc. Both series will receive 12 one-hour episode orders, and will begin production in early 2015.

“Both RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX are quintessentially SHOWTIME: bold, provocative, premium television with production values at the top of the food chain,” says Nevins. “These acclaimed shows are filled with complex and interesting characters and settings that will no doubt give audiences compelling television to invest in for seasons to come.”

MASTERS OF SEX scored five Emmy® Award nominations this year, including nods for actors Lizzy Caplan, Beau Bridges and Allison Janney, who was honored this past weekend with an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Margaret Scully. RAY DONOVAN’s Jon Voight is also an Emmy contender, receiving his first ever series nomination for his role as Mickey Donovan. Both series continue to resonate with the network’s subscribers, delivering season high numbers for their past few episodes. MASTERS OF SEX’s fifth episode delivered the series’ highest ratings of the season, up 18 percent versus the season two premiere. The series currently averages nearly four million viewers across platforms per week. Similarly, RAY DONOVAN’s fifth episode was up 16 percent versus its season two premiere, and season-to-date is averaging five million weekly viewers across platforms.

'Homeland' Returns With Two-Hour Premiere; 'The Affair' To Premiere Early

The highly anticipated season 4 of SHOWTIME’s Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning hit drama series HOMELAND will premiere the first two episodes airing back to back on October 5 beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Additionally, SHOWTIME has moved up the premiere of the highly anticipated new drama series THE AFFAIR, which will now debut on Sunday, October 12th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“In the aftermath of Homeland’s stunning finale last season, there is such strong anticipation for the start of season four that we wanted to give Homeland fans an extra generous helping of Carrie and company,” said Gary Levine, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Showtime Networks. “Once we decided to premiere Homeland with a double episode, it made sense to use the momentum of that event to launch our newest series, The Affair, the very next week on October 12th.”

Showtime Premieres 'Ray Donovan' Webseries 'Behind the Fix'

SHOWTIME will launch three companion webisodes for its hit series RAY DONOVAN, giving viewers an extended storytelling experience surrounding fan favorites Lena (Katherine Moennig) and Avi (Steven Bauer) across all digital platforms. Fans will get an inside look on how Ray’s (Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Liev Schreiber) team pulls off their “fixes,” woven directly from the plotlines on screen. The webisodes, titled “Behind The Fix,” will also feature a special appearance by another of the series’ stars, Pooch Hall. Functioning as digital companion pieces to their corresponding episodes, the webisodes will be available on SHO.com, YouTube, iTunes, SHO Sync, SHOWTIME ON DEMAND and SHOWTIME ANYTIME® immediately following the episodes’ first airings on SHOWTIME on August 3rd and 17th and September 14th. The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. Showtime Gives Pilot Order To 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'

SHOWTIME has given a pilot order to CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, a half-hour comedy with musical elements co-created, executive produced and written by feature writer Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, Annie) and writer/actress/comedian Rachel Bloom (Robot Chicken). The project centers around Rebecca (Bloom), a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: West Covina, Calif. Produced by CBS Television Studios, the pilot will be directed and executive produced by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man films) and will be shot in California this fall.
