For fans of the CW series iZombie and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, it’s a very good day.
The network announced today that it would be ordering five additional episodes of its freshman drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Although it’s still not a full season for the series, it does bring its episode total to 18.
iZomnbie received an additional order of six episodes bringing its total season two to 19 episodes so far.
Although neither series is a ratings juggernaut for the CW, the network is definitely high on both series and has shown it by earlier ordering additional scripts for the series and now the additional episode orders.
A hit and fan favorite right out of the gate, iZombie follows Liv, who is turned into a zombie during a boat party. In order to cope with her new situation and appetite for brains, she takes a job at the King County morgue. When she eats the brains of murder victims from the morgue, she temporarily takes on their personality traits and experiences flashbacks that give clues to the victim’s murder.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend follows Rebecca, a woman who was dumped by her then boyfriend Josh while they were in high school. Ten years later she spots him in New York only to find out that he is moving across the country to West Covina, California. She decides to give up a job at a choice law firm and move to West Covina to try and get closer to Josh.
