In May of 2020, NBC acquired the rights to the Canadian hit medical drama Transplant. The series was a steady ratings winner for NBC in its for two seasons, prompting the network to pick up two additional seasons of the series.
Rekha Sharma joined the cast in its third season, which is currently airing on NBC, and brought in a new energy to the series. Many of you may know the Canadian actor from her work on the hit Syfy series Battlestar Galactica or her recent appearance in the Showtime series Yellowjackets.
Now, she plays Dr. Neeta Devi on Transplant is replacing the much loved Dr. Bishop. She has her own thoughts and ideas on how to best manage and run the hospital which may ruffle some feathers with the doctors, nurses and upper management.
We had the chance to sit down with Rekha to talk about her role as Dr. Neeta Devi, the relationship the character has with the main character Bash and what it’s like trying to deal with all the medical terminology and jargon on a medical drama.
