Having just released the second season of its hit series Narcos, Netflix made a big announcement today.
The streaming service announced that it has renewed Narcos for two more seasons.
Both José Padilha and Eric Newman will continue to serve as executive producers of the series.
Narcos is inspired by the true story of Colombia’s infamously violent drug cartels and Pablo Escobar’s fight to stay the most powerful of them all.
The first season of the series showed how Pablo Escabar rose to power and became one of the most ruthless drug kingpins in history, while the second season showed his ultimate downfall and death.
In several interviews, the executive producers of Narcos stated that the show was not just about Pablo Escobar, but was about the overall drug war and fight that continues to this day.
