Welcome to the first post of my new project The PC Principle! This blog will cover all aspects of pop culture, music, movies, television and technology. If it’s pop culture related, I will talk about it here!

For the first post of the blog, I wanted to bring everyone’s attention to a film that was overlooked and I considered that a crime. Sunshine was released in 2007. It was directed by the fantastic Danny Boyle and had an amazing cast which included Chris Evans. Now like you, I had my concerns about this type of film and Chris Evans being part of it, but boy was I completely surprised. He gives probably the best performance in the film.

The basic plot of the film is that the Sun is dying and the Earth is in a deep freeze. Our cast is asked to try and reignite the Sun by taking a payload on a ship and shoot a bomb into the heart of the Sun which scientists believe will reignite the Sun. Now, without giving the movie away, let’s just say they run in the some issues as far as the crew goes and with a failed attempt before they tried. The film is gripping, suspenseful and just a thrill to watch.

I recently was a guest on a William Johnson’s podcast called the Paxton Configuration. We both watched the film and did audio commentary for the film. Here you will be able to listen to our commentary, so go rent the film and play our commentary along with the movie like an extra special feature on the DVD! We tell you in the commentary where exactly to start the movie to be in sync with our commentary. So, sit back and enjoy!
