Perception

Fresh on the heels of the Franklin & Bash cancellation, TNT has decided not to move forward with another one of its dramas.

The network has decided to cancel Perception after three seasons. The series stars Eric McCormack as Dr. Daniel Pierce, a schizophrenic neuropsychiatrist who assists the FBI on some of their most complex cases.

Turner Broadcasting’s David Levy hinted at the future direction the network would be going earlier this month. “We are going to get edgier, we are going to get louder, and we are going to get more dual (male-female), but we also have an existing audience, we have an existing fan base with a lot of our very popular shows.” He went on to say, “It’s an evolution, a bridge-type process that will take place as opposed to a turnaround.”

Of course, things have been changing at the network not only with the cancellation of Dallas, Franklin & Bash and now Perception, but also with the recent departure of Michael Wright and former Fox programming chief Kevin Reilly being announced as the network’s new president and CEO.
