Has the magic truly run out for Witches of East End? If you have been living under a rock for the past several months, Lifetime cancelled its fan favorite series Witches of East End after two seasons on the air. The season two finale left fans wanting more and definitely would have setup an exciting and entertaining season three.

After news of the cancellation, fans immediately took to social media to voice their anger and disappointment that the network had decided to cancel the series. Several members of the cast including Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Eric Winter and Daniel di Tomasso took to Twitter to respond to the news and thank the fans for supporting the show. Even Executive Vice President of Lifetime, Robert Sharenow admitted that it was hard for him to cancel the series and that even his daughter was upset with him for doing so.

Witches of East End followed the lives of a family of witches – Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond) and her two grown-up daughters, Freya Beauchamp (Jenna Dewan Tatum) and Ingrid Beauchamp (Rachel Boston), as well as her sister Wendy Beauchamp (Mädchen Amick). The series also starred Eric Winters and Daniel di Tomasso.

Rachel Boston recently sat down with the Pop Culture Principle to talk about her Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film A Gift of Miracles, but was also kind enough to spend some time to talk with us about Witches of East End.

Pop Culture Principle – Witches of East End was unfortunately cancelled by Lifetime after its second season. When did you and the cast find out the news?

Rachel Boston – We found out when the day it was announced and have all been absolutely blown away by the support and outpouring of love from fans all over the world. We knew it was something special and it is inspiring to see that the messages and stories and love that came through the two seasons, reached so many people.

Pop Culture Principle – Did the writers clue the cast in on what they were planning for season three or did you have any thoughts on the direction of your character and the show if it had continued?

Rachel Boston – Oh, there are so many places the story could go. And I really do think it would have had great success because so many people are now finding it on Netflix or online or on DVD and would be excited to start watching live. I would hope Ingrid finds love. True love. A person who can support her in her magic and fight the dark with light. And I just adore the Ingrid/Freya relationship and would love to watch them both continue to fully embrace their powers.

Pop Culture Principle – Your character Ingrid had an interesting journey during the second season. How much fun was it for you as an actor?

Rachel Boston – She was a dream role! Truly! I was able to go from a shy librarian to a brave witch who fully embraced her gifts and strength. From Mandragoras to time travel to romance and everything in between. It was so much fun!

Pop Culture Principle – What will you miss most about playing Ingrid and being a part of that fantastic cast?

Rachel Boston – Well, I saw them all last night so we are still very close. It is an amazing group of people, and I am thankful this show brought us all together. As for Ingrid, I miss time traveling. And magic brownies. I was a big fan of the magic brownies 🙂

Pop Culture Principle – The fans of WOEE have banded together with a fan campaign to get the show renewed. Do you think there is a possibility the show could either get renewed or move to another home?

Rachel Boston – I am open to the possibility of a miracle.

Pop Culture Principle – What would you like to say to the fans who have supported the show during its run?

Rachel Boston – You are the most passionate, amazing, supportive, loyal, faithful magic fans out there and we were very thankful to have you on this journey. Your kindness, videos, artwork, live tweeting, petitioning, all of it is so appreciated, and I’m excited to see what the next chapter brings. Miracles and magic seem to be a theme for me right now, so I have a feeling we will be exploring those worlds again very soon!

It’s plain to see that Rachel still has as special place in her heart for the series and would like to see it return for a third season.
