It seems as though all the whispers will finally stop.
ABC announced today that it would not be bringing back its freshman series The Whispers for a second season.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the network let the options on the series cast expire after four months which would mean new contracts would have to be negotiated if a renewal was in the cards.
Although the series premiered strong with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.7 million viewers in Live+Same Day numbers, the series ratings began to decline throughout its run. The finale drew a 0.7 and 2.8 million viewers in Live+Same Day numbers.
The Whispers starred Lily Rabe, Milo Ventimiglia, Barry Sloan and Derek Webster. The series follows a series of accidents that happen around children who all seem to be communicating with the same imaginary friend and the FBI Child Specialist who investigates the accidents.
