Amazon had two big announcement for fans of two of their popular series.
First up, the streaming service announced the second season renewal of its hit series Goliath. Clyde Phillips will come in as serve as day-to-day showrunner.
Series start Billy Bob Thornton recently won the Golden Globe awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama.
“Amazon is proud of Goliath and Billy Bob’s amazing, Golden Globe-winning performance,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy, Drama & VR at Amazon Studios. “Great shows like this help elevate the art of storytelling. We can’t wait to bring our customers a new season soon.”
Also announced was the Season 2 premiere of the series Hand of God. The series will premiere on Prime Video on March 10.
Created and written by Ben Watkins, Hand of God returns with Golden Globe winner Ron Perlman, starring as Judge Pernell Harris. The hard-living, law-bending king of San Vicente, “Judge Maximum” has finally hit bottom as he faces trial for the murder of a cop.
Hand of God also stars Dana Delany, Andre Royo, Garret Dillahunt, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Alona Tal, Julian Morris and Elizabeth McLaughlin.
“We are excited to give Prime members the answers to the mysteries of Hand of God season one,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy and Drama, Amazon Studios. “We are hopeful that this final chapter will be a satisfying one for fans of the series.”
