Although there are some bright spots, It’s been tough for half hour comedies to gain any traction this season and many are paying the price. Bad Judge, A to Z, Selfie and Manhattan Love Story have all been recently cancelled due to poor ratings. Well, you can add another one to that list. CBS has announced they are cancelling its sophomore comedy The Millers.

According to Deadline, the series will shoot one more episode then shut down production completely. While the show is still set to air this coming Monday’s episode, it is unclear what will happen with the episodes already completed.

In an effort to boost the show’s ratings, Sean Hayes was brought in but that didn’t help improve the numbers either. The show has struggled since being paired with 2 Broke Girls on Monday nights. It’s most recent airing saw the series get a 1.5 in the 18-49 demographic and 6.48 million viewers.

It will be interesting to see what CBS decides to do with freshman comedy The McCarthys because that series is struggling and pulls in about the same numbers as The Millers even though the network recently ordered two more scripts.

The saga continues….
