Even a few appearances from Bradley Cooper couldn’t save Limitless from cancellation.

The series had the dubious distinction of being the last network television series that did not know its fate by the network’s upfronts.

The news was announced by showrunner Craig Sweeny via his official Twitter account:

“I’m truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched.”

When it seemed that the series was not going to be renewed by the network, CBS TV Studios was shopping the series around to other possible homes behind the scenes, including Netflix, but nothing materialized from their efforts.

The series was based on the film that starred Bradley Cooper. It followed Brian Finch, who gains extraordinary cognitive powers thanks to the mysterious drug NZ. He uses these powers to help the FBI solve complex cases.
