It looks like the CBS series Code Black has been temporarily taken of life support.

The network has ordered five more episodes of the new medical drama Code Black, bringing the total number of episodes to 18.

Code Black wins its Wednesday (10:00-11:00PM) time period with 9.14 million viewers.

The freshman drama also sees significant live + 7-day playback, adding 3 million viewers and increasing +67% in adults 18-49 and +56% in adults 25-54.

The series stars Marcia Gay Harden, Bonnie Somerville, Raza Jaffrey and Luis Guzmán. It takes place in an overcrowded and understaffed emergency room in Los Angeles, California, and is based on a documentary by Ryan McGarry.
