It was a busy day today for CBS as they announced 11 renewals for the 2016-17 season.

For dramas, the network renewed Elementary, Scorpion, Madam Secretary, Blue Bloods, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans and Hawaii Five-O.

Heading over to comedies, CBS is bringing back 2 Broke Girls and Mom. Oh the reality front, long running competition series The Amazing Race and Survivor will also be back.

Although there was alot of good news today for many of the network’s fans, there were some curious omissions from the renewals list.

First and foremost, the network’s long-running, hit series Criminal Minds was not mentioned in the list of renewals.

Add to that, none of the network’s freshman series, Supergirl, Code Black, Limitless, Life in Pieces and the recently premiered Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders along with the yet to premiere series Rush Hour have been renewed.

Les Mooves, CBS CEO, had made comments earlier this month that up to five of the freshmen series could be renewed. i guess we will have to wait and find out.
