It seems as though the truth is out there for actor Joel McHale. Several news outlets are reporting that the Community star has signed on as a guest star for the upcoming X-Files revival.
McHale will play Tad O’Malley, the anchor of a popular conservative internet news network who becomes an unlikely ally for Fox Mulder
McHale will join previously announced cast members David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson who will reprise their iconic roles as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder and FBI Special Agent Dana Scully. Also coming back will be Mitch Pileggi as Assistant Director Walter Skinner.
Production will begin later this month in Vancouver and the show is expected to premiere in early 2016.
The X-Files originally aired from September 10, 1993 to May 19, 2002 on Fox, spanning nine seasons and 202 episodes. The series has also had to theatrical releases with The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008).
