In what could be his final appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, David Duchovny stopped by the show to talk about his upcoming new NBC series Aquarius. The conversation was soon steered in the direction of the recently announced revival of the beloved series The X-Files.
As first reported by TVWise and then later confirmed by FOX, The X-Files will be returning to the network as a six episode event series. As of now, only Chris Carter, Gillian Anderson and David have put pen to paper and have deals in place.
Asked who else would be coming back, Duchovny mentioned the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) and FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi). FOX has not confirmed their participation in the revival yet, but their return to the series would be very welcomed by the loyal fans.
