Fans of the critically acclaimed series Gilmore Girls received some news they’ve been waiting to hear for a long time.
Netflix confirmed that they would indeed be bringing back the cult hit series for what they are treating as a farewell season which will consist of four 90-minute movies.
After lengthy negotiations, series leads Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have signed on to reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory. Fans will also be happy to hear that the other two members of the series quartet, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop have also signed on for the revival.
Rounding out returning cast members from the original seres are Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
Amy Sherman-Palladino returns as creator/executive producer along with her husband Daniel Palladino who is also an executive producer. Both Amy and David will write and direct all four movies.
Right now, the title, number of episodes and premiere date are TBD. What we do know is that the revival will be set in present day and unfold over a calendar year.
Fans of the original series will be happy to know that Amy Sherman-Palladino is back for the revival as she was not involved with the final season of the series and didn’t get the opportunity to end the series the way she wanted to end it.
The Gilmore Girls revival will be produced by Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
