After a thrilling season two finale that would have setup a great premiere for season three, Lifetime has decided to cancel Witches of East End after two seasons.
Witches of East End was based on the book of the same name by Melissa de la Cruz. The series starred Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston and Madchen Amick as a family of witches living and dealing with their powers and trying to keep those powers from being discovered.
“Thank you to everyone who went on this extraordinary journey with us,” Boston tweeted after the cancellation news. “Your love, kindness, and support is forever magic.”
Although the series had a strong social media presence, that didn’t translate to viewers. Season one of the supernatural series averaged 1.67 viewers and in season two, that number dropped to 1.13 million viewers.
