It turns out Halloween was a very special day for the devil himself.

FOX has ordered a full season of the DC Comics-inspired crime drama Lucifer, picking up an additional nine episodes.

The announcement was made today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. This brings the total order to 22 episodes for the 2016-17 season.

“Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to GOTHAM, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes,” said Madden.

Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, from DC Entertainment, Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel.

Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective CHLOE DECKER to take down criminals.

Lucifer starts Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, DB Woodside, Tricia Helfer), and Lesley-Ann Brandt.
