MTV has just announced that it is renewing its freshman drama Finding Carter for a second season. The second season of the series will consist of twelve episodes.
“The creative minds behind Finding Carter did an exceptional job bringing this story to life and drawing our audience in,” MTV programming president Susanne Daniels said. “I’m looking forward to another season following Carter on her journey.”
The series stars Kathryn Prescott as Carter, a young teenage girl who finds out that her mother actually had abducted her when she was a baby. She is then sent back to her biological family and has to deal with getting to know them as well as trying to keep the mother who abducted her out of jail as she is now a fugitive.
The series averages 1.25 million viewers per episode and is currently the No. 1 new cable series with 12-34 year-olds and teens.
