Marry Me - Season 1

It looks like fans will be able to continue their courtship with the NBC series Marry Me. According to Variety, the network has ordered five additional episodes of the freshman comedy which brings its total to eighteen episodes.

The series premiered strong with a 2.3 in the 18-49 demo and 7.8 million viewers in live-plus-same day numbers. In subsequent weeks the show has dropped in the ratings, but is still the #2 comedy in the 18-49 demo for freshman broadcast comedies.

Although its not a complete back nine order, it is a positive sign for the comedy. The series follows what happens to longtime couple – high-strung Annie (Casey Wilson) and easy-going Jake (Ken Marino) – when their deeply committed relationship turns into a long and bumpy ride on the way to the altar after the question of “Will You Marry Me?” is popped.

The series was created by David Caspe who also created the short lived series Happy Endings which also starred Casey Wilson.
