It looks like the city of Chicago will be safe for at least another season.

Speaking at a recent press event where various news outlets were invited to cover all three Chicago series, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt made the announcement that both Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. had been renewed.

The series that started it all, Chicago Fire will be back for a fifth season and Chicago P.D. will hit the streets for its fourth season.

The announcement shouldn’t come as a surprise as both series have been steady ratings winners for the next. Chicago Fire’s most recent episode averaged a 1.8 in the 18-49 demo and 8.1 million viewers, while Chicago P.D. averaged a 1.4 in the demo and 6.5 million viewer.

The newest entry to the Chicago franchise, Chicago Med will make its debut on Tuesday, November 17th at 9/8c.
