Looks like the night shift isn’t a bad shift at all! NBC has announced that it will pick up its freshman series The Night Shift for a second season. The first season, which is still currently airing, consists of eight episodes. NBC has increased the order for the second season to fourteen episodes.

The show was originally to air as a midseason replacement back in the spring of 2013, but was eventually pushed back to this summer. The Night Shift averaged 1.7 rating and 7.9 million viewers. The series follows the lives of the staff who work the late night shift in the ER at San Antonio Medical Center.
