The struggling freshmen series virus has struck two more series. Fox recently trimmed the episode order of its freshman series Minority Report and now comes the news the same fate will happen to two more series.
NBC will be cutting the episode order of its series The Player from 13 episodes to 9. The series premiered to a very modest 1.2 in the 18-49 demo Live+Same Day. It has been facing stiff competition from Thursday Night Football over at CBS.
The series, which stars Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes, is currently filming the ninth episode and will wrap production once finished.
Over at ABC, the news isn’t good for the series Blood & Oil either. The network has decided to cut that series order from 13 to 10 episodes.
Just like The Player is facing tough competition on Thursday night, it’s double trouble for Blood & Oil as it is up against not only Sunday Night Football on NBC, it is also up against The Walking Dead on AMC.
