It’s good news today for fans of the freshman Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie.
As reported by Deadline and Variety, Netflix has renewed the series for a second season. Grace and Frankie was created by Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris and stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston.
“Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix,” said Kauffman. “Because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted [Sarandos] and Miley to thank.”
The series follows Grace, a retired cosmetics mogul, and Frankie, a hippie art teacher, whose husbands, Robert and Sol, are successful divorce lawyers in San Diego. Grace and Frankie’s lives are turned upside down when Robert and Sol announce that they are in love with each other and are leaving their wives. Now, the women, who have never really liked each other, are forced to live together and support each other as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
The second season of Grace and Frankie will debut in 2016.
