It has been a very busy day for the folks over at Netflix. The streaming service just announced that it will be extending Frank Underwood’s residency at Netflix for another season.
It’s breakout series House of Cards has been renewed for a fourth season that will consist of 13 episodes. No firm premiere date was given, but it looks to air sometime in 2016.
Production for the fourth season is schedule to begin this summer.
House of Cards was created by Beau Willimon and follows the story of Frank Underwood, a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and House Majority Whip who, after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, starts an elaborate scheme to get himself into the White House. The series became an instant hit for Netflix and has also caused many to participate in “binge” watching of the series.
