Fans of the time time-travel romance series Outlander woke up this morning to some great news.
Starz has announced that it has renewed its freshman hit series for a second season. The series is based on the best-selling novels of Diana Gabaldon’s and the second season will be based on the second book in that series entitled Dragonfly in Amber.
“The overwhelming support Outlander has received from the fans, viewers and critics made the decision for us to go ahead with the second book a very easy one,” said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht.
The current season of Outlander consists of sixteen episodes, but for season 2, the network announced right now is only confirming at least thirteen episodes.
The series premiere of Outlander drew over five million viewers across all platforms.
