You can add another showrunner exiting a series before its television debut.

Deadline is reporting that Grag Malins, who was the showrunner and executive producer on The Grinder, has decided to leave the series.

While the search for a new showrunner is underway, series director and executive producer Jake Kasdan is expected to take over the duties of showrunner.

Although no official reason has been given, it is being reported that there were creative differences between Malins and the rest of the creative team behind the scenes.

Malins is considered a veteran showrunner and is currently the executive producer for Fox’s New Girl and ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat. It is being reported that the main reason Fox picked up the series was because they had secured Malins as the showrunner. In the meantime, Malins is expected to be assigned to another series at the network.

This marks the fourth network series that has had its showrunner leave the series early. Both Blood & Oil and The Catch over at ABC and most recently, NBC’s Chicago Med.
