Well, all of the Major Crimes fans can now breathe a sigh of relief!
The network has renewed its second highest rated series for a fifth season. Although TNT has not officially made the announcement, cast member Tony Denison was the first to announce the news via his official Twitter account.
The news of the renewal was later reported exclusively by television news site TVWise which also reported that although a final episode order has yet to be officially confirmed, their site was told the number would be 15 episodes.
Series creator James Duff also sent out a tweet with the news, “Major Crimes gets picked up for Season Five! Happy Thanksgiving everybody! We hope you all have a great holiday weekend!”
Major Crimes was a spin-off of the hugely successful The Closer and follows the major crimes division of the LAPD which is led by Captain Sharon Raydor.
The series stars Mary McDonnell, Tony Denison, G.W. Bailey, , Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz and Graham Patrick Martin.
