Fans of the TNT series Murder in the First are now breathing a sigh of relief today.
According to Deadline, the network has decided to renew Murder in the First for a third season.
The series stars Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson and will return in 2016.
Murder in the First was created by Steven Bochco and Eric Lodal and was a departure from the normal TNT procedurals as it follows one case during an entire season.
During its season two run, the series averaged 2 million viewers. Murder in the First joins The Last Ship and Rizzoli & Isles which also were renewed for next year.
One reason for the decision being made now is that the cast’s options were going to expire by the end of the year.
More to come…
