Currently in its sixth season, veteran series Rizzoli & Isles has been a consistent and steady performer for TNT. It seems like the network continues to recognize this and has renewed the series for a seventh season.
The series has been renewed with a 13-episode order for its seventh season. The news was tweeted out by one of the series stars Angie Harmon earlier today.
Rizzoli & Isles was ranked as the number on basic cable series last summer and is already holding that same spot this summer. Across all of TNT’s platforms, the series is averaging 11.1 million viewers per episode.
The series’ backstory is inspired by the Maura Isles/Jane Rizzoli series of novels by Tess Gerritsen.
Executive producers for the series are Bill Haber and Jan Nash, who also serves as the showrunner. Rizzoli & Isles is produced by Warner Horizon Television.
