happy-endings-abcLooks like there isn’t going to be a happy ending for fans of the ratings challenged ABC sitcom. E! News is reporting that a source has confirmed with them that USA Network will not pick up the cult comedy series for a fourth season.

Once the series had been cancelled by ABC, Deadline reported that both Sony TV studios and USA Network were in talks for weeks to strike a deal to bring the comedy to the network.  The talks finally ended with the network passing on the comedy due to budgetary reasons which was also reported by Deadline.

Although the news is not good, reports are  Sony TV still hasn’t given up and is still actively looking for a home for the series.

Happy Endings follows the dysfunctional adventures of six best friends living in Chicago: “crazy-in-love” married couple, businessman overachiever Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) and neurotic perfectionist Jane (Eliza Coupe); ditzy Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), a happy-go-lucky boutique owner and Jane’s younger sister; daydreamer Dave (Zachary Knighton), an aspiring restaurateur and food truck owner who used to be engaged to Alex; slacker manchild Max (Adam Pally), who deals with trying to hold a job and maintaining a consistent relationship; and klutzy serial dating single girl Penny (Casey Wilson), who fears she’s forever doomed for spinsterhood.
