Firefly is a show that just won’t go away. Although it was cancelled 10 years ago, the show still has a huge cult following and fans all over the world. Many of today’s top shows have paid homage to Firefly in one way or another. Shows like the Big Bang Theory and Castle have all added little tributes to the show over the years. With hundreds of websites, several fan movies and a documentary about the fans of the series, Firefly isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
In the past year, the Science Channel acquired the rights to air the 14 episodes that were produced and the episodes have not only done well in the ratings, but have exposed a whole new group of fans or Browncoats to the cult series. Over the years, Joss Whedon has expressed an interest in revisiting the series and many of the cast and crew are on board as well to revisit their beloved characters.
Now comes the news that in honor of the shows 10th anniversary, several of the cast members and creative team behind the show are coming together for a very special panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The Science Channel is bringing together Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Tim Minear, Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Sean Maher and Michael Fairman. The panel is scheduled to last an hour and will also include some never before seen footage and some noteworthy surprises according to the people from the Science Channel.
